Packer packs it in; media dynasty ends in Australia

James Packer's resignation from the board of PBL Media effectively ends his family's near century-old media connections. It was only a little more than two years ago that Packer sold half of his major media interests to private equity group CVC for A$4.5 billion ($2.8 billion U.S.). A year later he sold a remaining quarter to them for half a billion.
