RentHop aims to cut broker fees in NY

A new startup out of incubator Y Combinator has launched in New York. The idea is to eliminate broker fees charged by agents with rental listings. New York is the logical place to start since brokers generally charge a fee of 15 percent of the first year’s rent. It’s not clear if the model will work in other markets where that's not the case.
