According to the latest ComScore search engine report, Google Sites led the U.S. core search market in August with 64.6 percent of the searches conducted, followed by Yahoo! Sites (19.3 percent), and Microsoft /Bing (9.3 percent). Ask Network captured 3.9 percent of the search market, followed by AOL LLC with 3.0 percent.

Americans conducted 13.9 billion searches in August, up 3 percent

Mark Whittaker

Mark Whittaker joined the AIM Group as sales director in March 2009. His career in newspapers spans 30 years as a reporter, editor and online manager. He spent seven years as online managing editor and online director for PittsburghLive.com and the Tribune-Review Publishing Co. in Pittsburgh, and later worked as interactive media director for Beaver Newspapers Inc. in suburban Pittsburgh.
