German publishing company Axel Springer had quite a good year in 2009 considering the worst economic crisis in decades. Revenues declined by 4.3 percent (€2.61 billion) and the EBITDA fell 45 percent to €333.7 million, but CEO Mathias Döpfner is still satisfied, especially when it comes to the EBITDA margin of 12.8 percent.
