States, dealers, fight Tesla business model;Tesla plans more affordable cars

Electric-car manufacturer Tesla's penchant to cut out the middle firm (the dealer) in its auto sales is being met with resistance,  not just from the auto dealers themselves but from several U.S. states as well. This is not an obstacle unique to Tesla.  Online-only auto sales listing publisher Carvana has run into these issues as well. But then, Carvana is nearly asking for this kind of trouble
