Marktplaats.nl to lose COO Remco Armee

14 Dec 2016

Remco Armee, COO of Marktplaats.nl, will leave the company to become head of e-commerce business at Independer from the start of January.

Independer is an online service for comparing auto, health and housing insurance. It analyzes and compares insurance plans, advises customers on their advantages and helps them to close deals.

Armee (LinkedIn profile here) worked at the leading Dutch classified site Marktplaats, owned by EBay,  for the last ten years. The last three years of that period he was chief operating and chief connections officer. Prior to that, he was head of the Marktplaats automotive segment, and prior to that, he was responsible for marketing.

Armee holds a master of science degree in electrical engineering and telecommunications from Delft University.

It was not immediately clear whether Marktplaats will fill the vacancy from outside, or from its own ranks.
