Lakshmikant Gupta quits GirnarSoft

Lakshmikant Gupta, known by his friends as LK Gupta, quit his post as chief marketing officer of GirnarSoft in India. He has been replaced by Gaurav Mehta, former chief marketing officer of OLX India.
An industry veteran of 25 years, LK Gupta was with the Jaipur-based company, owner of auto sites, such as CarDekho, Gaadi, Zigwheels and BikeDekho, for two-and-a-half years. Earlier he was chief marketing officer of Bengaluru-based bus-ticketing company RedBus, and before that with LG Electronics India.
During his stint with Girnar, Gupta was credited with setting up Girnar’s marketing department from scratch, building it to a 30-strong team comprising of both online and offline marketing experts. He also led the content production and content marketing functions of the company.
Gupta now plans to establish a new venture called CMOnow Consultancy, he told AdAge India. The new outfit will provide multi-channel marketing solutions to b-to-c businesses, across industries.
Founded in 2007 by brothers Amit and Anurag Jain, GirnarSoft labs began its journey as an outsourced product development company. The flagship site Cardekho.com was launched in 2008. Today, its counted as the No. 3 auto site in Asia Pacific, attracting around three million monthly visits, against Carmudi’s 300,000 and 740,000 monthly visits of iCarAsia’s Mobil123 (source: SimilarWeb).

Guarav Mehta will also head the marketing initiatives of CarDekho.com, Gaadi.com and Zigwheels.com. Some of the important components of his mandate include brand-building, performance marketing, and trade marketing. Mehta has over 12 years of work experience, and has worked across brands and agencies such as JWT, Elephant Design, Brand DNA, iSmart Panache Inc, Yahoo!, and OLX.
