Lasterie now development director at TMG Digital

TMG Digital, the digital unit of Dutch media group Telegraaf Media Groep (TMG), hired Gert-Jan Lasterie as business development director, to develop new business and revenue models. All classifieds and e-commerce sites of TMG fall under the ambit of TMG Digital.

Lasterie (LinkedIn profile here) is ex-head of marketing at Coolblue, an online store in the Benelux countries, where he worked for the past two years.

Prior to that, he was an entrepreneur at various digital start-ups for 14 years, including the online video community Flabber.nl.

TMG Digital was created last year to unite primarily non-news-media digital activities of the group.

It consists of three units: a publishing unit (website GeenStijl.nl), e-commerce unit (discount site GroupDeal.nl) and classifieds unit (dating site Relatieplanet.nl, property site Jaap.nl, general classifieds site Speurders.nl, and used-cars aggregator Gaspedaal.nl). TMG is currently going through turbulent times, as it faced losses and lay-offs, and has recently conditionally agreed to accept a takeover bid of Belgium’s Het Mediahuis (we reported here).
