Car shoppers are willing to travel farther than ever before in their quest for just the right car, found Automotive News. If they have a particular car in mind and it's not available nearby or its scarcity is driving up the price locally, they'll look elsewhere. Cox spends big bucks for another small piece of AutoTrader.com pie

At a cost that CNNMoney reports as close to $400 million, Cox Enterprises has bought all AutoTrader.com shares owned by 14-year-shareholder Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm.  This transaction will give Cox 73 percent ownership of the auto-listing giant -  a gain of just under 5 percent.  CNN  called the sale a "massive profit" for Kleiner Perkins.
