Kate Lyons has worked as a business, marketing and finance journalist for over 25 years. Formerly news editor and deputy editor of advertising weekly B&T, as well as editor of Australian Small Business magazine and Franchising Magazine, she has written for all major metropolitan newspapers in Australia, including The Australian Financial Review, The Australian, The Sunday Telegraph and The Sydney Morning Herald.
A specialist in branding, agencies, online marketing, media industries, finance and B2B marketing, she has worked as a feature writer for a wide range of business titles, including Marketing Magazine, Professional Marketing, CFO Magazine, Ad News and The Australian Financial Review Magazine. In addition she has provided media training to Australian advertising agencies such as M&C Saatchi, edited a range of B2B titles for Australian media groups and major advertisers, worked as an editor on academic articles and grant applications, and written regularly for international media portals such as Australasian Business Intelligence (ABIX) on branding, online markets and advertising.
Kate is a published novelist, a former NSW Ministry of the Arts Writing Fellow, and a part-time university lecturer in journalism, literature, academic writing and creative writing.
